    Commercial Glass FAQs

What types of commercial glass work do you handle?

We cover the glazing a commercial property actually needs day to day: storefront glass and entrance systems, interior office partitions and demountable glass walls, conference room enclosures, glass railings and guards, display cases and counter fronts, and custom fabrication where nothing off the shelf fits. Most of our commercial work falls into two groups. The first is tenant improvement, where a space is being reconfigured and the glazing has to suit a new layout on a fixed schedule. The second is replacement, where a panel has failed or been broken and the priority is getting the opening secure and then getting it right. Both come out of the same shop on West Reno Avenue as our residential work, so measurement, fabrication and installation are handled by the same people rather than passed down a chain of subcontractors.

Are you licensed and insured for commercial work?

Yes. We are licensed and insured for commercial glass installation in Clark County, and we can issue certificates of insurance directly to a property manager, general contractor or building owner before work starts, which is usually a condition of getting on site. That matters more on commercial jobs than residential ones, because commercial glazing sits under requirements residential work does not: safety glazing in doors, sidelights and any panel in a hazardous location under CPSC 16 CFR 1201 and ANSI Z97.1, and specific requirements for glass used in guards and railings. We specify to those standards rather than to what looks similar, and we will tell you when a proposed detail will not meet them. If your contract requires particular coverage limits or additional insured wording, tell us at the quote stage.

How fast can you replace broken storefront glass?

Two separate questions in practice, and they have different answers. Making the opening secure is fast: for most storefront openings we can board up the same day, which stops the immediate exposure and lets you keep trading. Replacing the glass depends on what was there. A standard clear tempered panel in a common size is usually a matter of days. Anything laminated, insulated, tinted, low-E coated or oversized has to be made to order, and the lead time is set by the fabricator rather than by us, so we will give you a real date rather than an optimistic one. Call 702.899.0456 and tell us the approximate size, the thickness and whether the pane is a single sheet or a sealed unit; that is usually enough for us to tell you which of those two situations you are in.

Do you work with general contractors and property managers?

Regularly, and it is a large part of what the shop does. We work with general contractors on tenant improvement and build-out packages, with property management companies on scheduled replacement and on emergencies across a portfolio, and directly with tenants who are fitting out a space they lease. What that usually means in practice is working to someone else's programme: taking site dimensions once the framing is up rather than from a drawing, fabricating to suit a fixed installation window, and coordinating with the other trades so the glass does not arrive before the opening is ready for it. We can provide certificates of insurance, lien waivers and submittals as required. For a multi-unit or phased scope, call us early so lead times can be planned around rather than discovered.
